Elliot Downes

Bachelor of Nursing Student

Elliot is a final year Bachelor of Nursing student living on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land who is passionate about social justice and health promotion.

They are currently completing Stage 1 of the Australian College of Nursing Emerging Nurse Leader Program and have been privileged to contribute to the Clinical Placements with Older People (CPOP) program as the student member of its expert advisory committee.

Outside of their academic commitments, Elliot offers guidance and support to fellow students through their involvement with the University of Canberra Nursing Society.

Next year, they plan to pursue their interest in primary healthcare as a graduate nurse transitioning to practice.

In the future, they intend on completing further study with the aim of delivering comprehensive care for rural and remote communities as a nurse practitioner.
